OPENING RECEPTION & SPECIAL SCREENING OF "LOOK OUT BELOW" A FILM BY MICHAEL DISPENZA:
THURSDAY, DECEMBER 11 @ 6:30PM
Internationally celebrated artist Colette Miller, creator of the Global Angel Wings Project, returns to Los Angeles with an exhibition at ace/121 Gallery that unites her iconic wings with paintings from her luminous Planet Series. Known for transforming city walls into messages of hope and humanity, Miller’s work reminds us that “we are the angels of this Earth.” Her Planet Series extends that vision to a cosmic scale, exploring balance, beauty, and the interconnectedness of life across the universe. Together, these works radiate compassion and resilience, inviting viewers to see themselves as both earthly and celestial beings. The exhibition is paired with Look Out Below, the 2024 award-winning documentary by filmmaker Michael Dispenza, which delves into the story behind the Global Angel Wings Project and the courage required to follow one’s creative calling. Through the lens of Los Angeles’ street art movement, the film reveals how Miller’s simple yet profound gesture, painting wings for people to stand within, became a global symbol of unity, empowerment, and love.
Tuesday Nights @ 7:00PM-8:30PM
